Danish Business sees Blackstone investment in Eurowind Energy as "giant export success"

29. APR 2026 13.14

American Blackstone's investment in Eurowind Energy, which means that the investment company will own 24.7 percent of the company, shows, according to Dansk Erhverv, that Danish companies can attract international capital in the green transition. The business organization states this in a press release.

- We are celebrating a Danish global success in the green transition. A Danish green unicorn from North Jutland, which has grown out of the Jutland soil in Hobro, and which today attracts massive international capital. It is world class. Quite simply, says Brian Mikkelsen, CEO of Dansk Erhverv.

Eurowind Energy was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Hobro. With the investment, the company is valued at a total of DKK 55 billion.

- For a company that was founded in 2006, it is nothing short of impressive. It shows how quickly things can go when, with entrepreneurship, diligence and Danish common sense, you can succeed in combining green transition and business development. It is not just a green business success. It is also a gigantic export success, says Brian Mikkelsen.

Danish Business Association points out that the expansion of renewable energy is also about security of supply and less dependence on imported oil and gas.

- The closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the energy crisis clearly show why we must strive for energy independence, so that we can free ourselves from dependence on imported oil and gas. The alternatives include much more renewable energy, and that is why today is a day of celebration as a Dane and as director of Danish Business Association, says Brian Mikkelsen.
