RWE has extended its strategic partnership with Ziton A/S, which provides specialist operations and maintenance services to the offshore wind industry, including jack-up vessels for servicing offshore wind turbines, by three years, ensuring continued access to jack-up vessels for its offshore wind business from 2027. RWE said in a press release.

The agreement covers vessels, lifting capacity and associated services for at least 240 days per year. It is intended to support the replacement of major components and contribute to the stable operation of RWE's existing and growing portfolio of offshore wind farms in the UK and the rest of Europe. At the same time, the agreement is intended to reduce price uncertainty in an increasingly competitive market.

- The combination of RWE's internal competencies and Ziton's experience has helped us develop a standardized and cost-effective approach to replacing major components in recent years. By extending our strategic partnership, we will further strengthen flexibility and efficiency, reduce response times and minimize lost revenue across our portfolio – while maintaining a strong safety performance, says Thomas Michel, COO of RWE Offshore Wind.

The partnership between RWE and Ziton was originally entered into in 2023.

- Ziton looks forward to continuing the strong partnership with RWE, which is proof of our expertise as a specialized provider of operations and maintenance. Our flexible fleet of jack-up vessels is well suited to support RWE's various offshore assets, and we will continue to maintain their portfolio of wind turbines to ensure safe and efficient operations, says Thorsten Jalk, CEO of Ziton.
