ODENSE: 189 Odense residents are losing their jobs in a round of layoffs that the wind turbine company Vestas is currently carrying out. Odense Municipality is ready to help, according to a press release.
- We have both employees and tools ready to quickly get the many dismissed people to new jobs. No one should feel that they are being left behind, says Employment and Social Affairs Councillor Søren Windell (K).
According to Vestas, the majority of those affected are unskilled. Therefore, the municipality will focus on upskilling and education. Odense is just one of several municipalities on Funen that have met with Star and the affected unions to coordinate help for those laid off at Vestas' production at the Port of Odense in Munkebo.
