Danish wind service company CNC Onsite is entering into a collaboration to roll out the company's mobile technology for repairing wind turbine blades in 12 Asian countries, including India, Thailand and Vietnam. CNC Onsite announced this in a press release.

The collaboration has been entered into with Dutch We4Ce and Thai CEWA Plus as part of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) and includes a pipeline of repairs on a GW scale. CEWA Plus has purchased CNC Onsite's machine and is now scaling up the effort by rolling out the technology in several countries via a new regional service hub. Thousands of bushings are planned to be repaired across the 12 markets.

As part of the agreement, technical teams from Asia will travel to Vejle this month to be trained on CNC Onsite's equipment. They will then continue to the Netherlands for training in We4Ce’s Re-FIT method.

- The partnership builds on the first contract with We4Ce, which gave our customer CEWA Plus in Thailand access to the new technology in 2025, says Søren Kellenberger, CEO of CNC Onsite.

Repairs directly on site

The technology makes it possible to repair wind turbine blades directly in the parks by replacing defective bushings that connect the blade and the turbine hub. According to the company, the method can reduce costs by up to 60 percent compared to replacing the entire blade, while also reducing the need for transportation.

- Our statement of intent marks a strategic shift in how the industry handles structural maintenance. By providing the technical know-how for our Re-FIT technology and coupling it with CNC Onsite's mobile precision drilling equipment and CEWA Plus' on-site setup, we enable regional service providers to solve maintenance challenges directly at the wind farms, says Arnold Timmer, CEO of We4Ce.

The method has already been tested in a 50 MW wind farm in Thailand, where more than 1,000 bushings on 22 blades have been restored.

As part of the solution, the GapMaster Intelligence monitoring system from CEWA Plus is also integrated, which monitors the blade-hub joint via laser scanning and sends warnings in case of irregularities through the SCADA system.

CNC Onsite states that the company is entering the expansion with strengthened finances. Over the past decade, gross profit has increased by over 300 percent, while EBIT in the most recent financial year has grown by 152 percent.
