On Friday, Vestas was hit by a cyberattack, and Vestas is still working to investigate the consequences of a cyberattack that hit the Danish wind turbine giant on Friday.

So far, the investigations indicate that "data has been compromised" in Vestas' internal IT infrastructure. The company states this in a stock exchange announcement.

- The preliminary results of the company's investigations indicate that the incident has affected parts of Vestas' internal IT infrastructure and that data has been compromised.

- The work and investigations into the situation are still ongoing, Vestas writes.

However, there is nothing to indicate that what Vestas has called a "cybersecurity incident" has affected their customers and supply chain.

- Vestas' production, installation and service teams have been able to continue work, even though several operational IT systems have been shut down for safety reasons.

- Vestas has already begun a gradual and controlled restart of IT systems, the company further states.

It was on Saturday that Vestas publicly announced that it had been hit on Friday. To limit the problem, the company shut down IT systems across several business units and locations.

Vestas states that the company has since collaborated with external partners around the clock to contain the situation and restore the IT systems.

Several large companies hit

The wind turbine manufacturer is not the only company in Denmark that has been hit by cyber attacks of varying degrees in recent years. Last year, the large Danish service group ISS was attacked. Previously, container giant A.P. Møller-Mærsk and Demant, which makes hearing aids, have also been hit.

The bills have subsequently run into several hundred million kroner in, among other things, lost revenue and rebuilding systems.

Like Vestas, all three companies are large companies listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. All four are part of the leading Danish stock index, C25.

Vestas was founded in 1945. At that time it produced agricultural equipment. In 1975, Vestas delivered the first wind turbines, and now turbines are delivered both on land and at sea all over the world.

Today, the company has close to 30,000 employees across large parts of the world.

Last year, the company had a turnover of 14.8 billion euros. This corresponds to 110.1 billion kroner. This gave a profit of what corresponds to 6.9 billion kroner. before tax.
