TotalEnergies puts US wind project on hold after Trump victory

The future US president Donald Trump has made no secret of the fact that he is not a fan of wind turbines. Trump's election victory has therefore raised concerns throughout the wind industry about what Trump's victory will mean for a number of wind projects in the US. And already now, more than a month before Trump takes office, the election has had consequences for an American wind project.

Thus, TotalEnergie's Patrick Pouyanné, who is chairman and CEO, announced at an industry conference that they have chosen to put their offshore Attentive Energy project off New York on hold. This is reported by Bloomberg.

Patrick Pouyanné emphasizes, however, that this is a pause and not a cancellation of the project, and that it is therefore a four-year pause during Trump's presidency. Trump has made it clear on several occasions that he wants to stop a number of wind projects already on his first day as president.
