KK Wind Solutions has entered into an agreement to acquire Nissens Cooling Solutions, a supplier of tailored cooling solutions for the wind industry in particular. The seller is no stranger to KK Wind Solutions, as Nissen Cooling Solutions has been owned by A.P. Møller Holding A/S since 2021, which also owns KK Wind Solutions.
According to KK Wind Solutions, the acquisition will enable the company to become a stronger supplier to the wind industry with its two main product offerings, cooling systems and power conversion solutions, but will also enable it to enter new market areas such as PtX, KK Wind Solutions said in a press release.
- As renewable energy continues to grow and overtake conventional and fossil-based forms of energy, the wind industry and its supply chain must mature in parallel. To achieve this, suppliers like KK Wind Solutions must become bigger and stronger, and with the acquisition of Nissens Cooling Solutions, we are taking another decisive step in line with our long-term growth strategy. This acquisition will allow us to diversify our product range from power electronics to cooling solutions, while expanding our customer base in the wind, power-to-X and other industries,” said Mauricio Quintana, CEO of KK Wind Solutions.
The acquisition expands KK Wind Solutions’ global manufacturing presence by adding new factories in the Czech Republic, China, Denmark, Slovakia and more than 800 employees. The additions build on the growth journey that KK Wind Solutions has been on since A.P. Møller Holding acquired the company in 2019.

KK Wind Solutions’ acquisition of Nissens Cooling Solutions is expected to close on January 1, 2024.
