Equinor and Shell have appointed Neil McCulloch as CEO and Nicoletta Giadrossi as Chair of their UK offshore joint venture, Adura.

Adura will become the UK's largest independent producer of oil and gas in the North Sea. The company is the result of Equinor and Shell merging their UK offshore operations into a single integrated company.

The appointments mark a significant step in establishing Adura as the largest independent producer in the North Sea, according to a press release.

Neil McCulloch has over 30 years of management experience in the energy sector and has experience in improving operations and safety. He is currently CEO of Spirit Energy and has worked to advance the role of the oil and gas sector in the UK’s energy transition.

- I am honoured to lead Adura at this crucial time. Adura has a clear purpose - to deliver secure energy to the UK. I look forward to working with our talented team to build a business that is operationally strong, future-oriented and founded on solid values, he says.

Nicoletta Giadrossi is an experienced Chairman and Non-Executive Director in the energy and infrastructure sectors. She currently heads MSX International and also sits on the boards of Vopak NV and Renew Global plc.
