A group of citizens from the western part of Ikast-Brande Municipality recently delivered 537 signatures to Mayor Ib Lauritsen (V) in protest against nine planned wind turbines at Kratlund. The signatures were hung on a clothesline as a symbol of resistance. This is reported by Horsens Folkeblad.
- The nine wind turbines in Kratlund near Brande will have a negative impact on the settlement in the area. Specifically, four residential properties will be demolished. It will be difficult to get people to settle in the area in the future. This will weaken the foundations for the small village communities, schools, gymnastics clubs, churches and more. This will have a major impact on the entire area, says Finn Bøgedal, who is the CEO of the initiative group.
Citizens have rung doorbells within a radius of five kilometers from the planned wind turbines. In cases where people were not at home, a letter was delivered where opponents could express their opinion. The signatures were delivered with the call to preserve the area as an undisturbed landscape and strengthen the settlement for the benefit of local villages such as Blåhøj and Uhre. The wind turbine project will be voted on at the city council meeting on Monday, March 17. Political disagreement is already emerging, as both the conservative city council group, the Danish People's Party and the Common List have announced that they do not support the turbines.
