There are changes in the management of RWE's European and Australian onshore wind and solar business. Katja Wünschel, who has been at the helm of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia since 2021, will leave the company on 31 March 2026 to join the management board of the German property group Vonovia as Chief Development Officer.
Her successor has been found internally in the form of Sopna Sury, who will take up the role of CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia on 1 April 2026. Sury has been responsible for RWE's hydrogen business as a member of the management board of RWE Generation since 2021. This role will be taken over by the company's CEO, Nikolaus Valerius.

Sopna Sury has been part of RWE since 2019 and has built up the company's hydrogen business. Before her time at RWE, she held senior positions at Uniper and E.ON.
