Around 1,300 employees at Esvagt, a provider of safety and support at sea that serves both the offshore wind industry and the oil and gas sector, are getting new bosses. The company's CEO since 2018, Peter Lytzen, has decided to retire with effect from November 1. Esvagt announced this in a press release.

To replace Peter Lytzen, the Esvagt board of directors has identified a duo who will form the top of the company in the future. Here, the choice has fallen on Kristian Jakobsen and Søren Karas, who will jointly assume the CEO role.

Kristian Jakobsen was previously Deputy CEO at Esvagt, a role he has held since 2018. Søren Karas was previously Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer at Esvagt, a position he has held since 2017.

- I am pleased that we have strong CEO successors within Esvagt in Kristian and Søren, who know the company well and are advocates for our values and culture. The shared CEO role fits well with our strategy and operating model and will help us drive further growth through our offshore service solutions. Thank you to Peter for having been crucial in developing Esvagt to be the leading provider of services to the offshore industry, says Jakob Thomasen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Esvagt.

Peter Lytzen is looking forward to his time at Esvagt, which he himself describes as "a fantastic journey". He is delighted with the people who will now take over from him.

- I have concluded that this is the right time to retire, and I am pleased that my colleagues Kristian and Søren have agreed to take over the helm. Having worked closely with Kristian and Søren for more than 6 years, I know that they both have the experience and ability to continue Esvagt's successful journey, but most importantly, also the talent and innovation needed to guide Esvagt into the future, says the outgoing CEO.

The new CEO duo looks forward to carrying on the legacy.

- We are delighted to take on the roles as co-CEOs of Esvagt at an exciting time with great potential for the company. We look forward to accelerating our international growth while continuing to deliver market-leading operations and services to our customers and partners, say Kristian Jakobsen and Søren Karas in a joint statement.
