The Port of Aarhus has appointed Ulrik Andersen as its new CEO. He will take up the position on 1 May 2026 and comes from a position as municipal director in Thisted Municipality. This is stated by the Port of Aarhus in a press release.

The board has carried out a recruitment process with a focus on finding a profile that can further develop the port's strategic direction and strengthen cooperation with customers, owners and other stakeholders.

- We are very pleased to welcome Ulrik Andersen as CEO of the Port of Aarhus. In a strong field of applicants, we have found an experienced top manager with both visionary and strategic outlook as well as a strong ability to navigate organizations with many stakeholders. Ulrik is also a well-liked and respected leader who can both set direction and bring people together around it. The board is therefore convinced that he is the right person to lead the continued development of the Port of Aarhus, says Susanne Juhl, chairman of the board of the Port of Aarhus.

Ulrik Andersen has held the highest administrative responsibility in Thisted Municipality for the past ten years. He has experience with strategic development and management in organizations with many stakeholders. In addition, he has knowledge of the port industry from his work at Hanstholm Port, where he has been a board member and acting director, among other things.

- The Port of Aarhus is Denmark's most important commercial port with crucial importance for Danish business, security of supply and development both locally and nationally. It is a company with strong historical roots and great future prospects. I look forward to getting to know the organization and the port's many partners and to further develop the port in the coming years together with employees, owner, board and customers, says Ulrik Andersen.

Ulrik Andersen replaces Kåre Clemmesen, who has been interim CEO since December 2025, after Thomas Haber Borch was dismissed after five years, when the board wanted a different profile for the position. Clemmesen will continue in the role until the end of April.
