French President Emmanuel Macron calls on all parties to the war to stop attacking civilian infrastructure - especially water and energy facilities. Macron writes on the social media X.

- It is in our common interest to impose a moratorium on attacks targeting civilian infrastructure, especially energy and water facilities, without delay. Civilian populations and their basic needs as well as the security of energy supplies must be protected, Macron writes.

The French president states that he has just spoken with the Emir of Qatar and US President Donald Trump following attacks on gas production facilities in Iran and Qatar.

A major natural gas facility caught fire in Qatar on Wednesday evening after being hit in an Iranian missile attack. The facility that was hit was Ras Laffan Industrial City, which is Qatar's primary facility for the production of liquefied natural gas. The attack has caused extensive damage, QatarEnergy, Qatar's state energy company, said.

Qatar's Foreign Ministry, according to the Al Jazeera media outlet, described the Iranian attack as "a gross violation of the state's sovereignty as well as a direct attack on its national security".

Earlier on Wednesday, Iran issued a warning that an attack on a number of energy facilities in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates was imminent.

In Abu Dhabi, which is part of the United Arab Emirates, operations at the Habshan gas plant were suspended on Wednesday, according to Reuters, after authorities had detected two cases of fallen debris. This happened after what was called a successful interception of a missile.

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, stated on Thursday night, according to Reuters, that two oil refineries near the capital, Riyadh, have been subjected to Iranian attacks.
