An oil refinery in Kuwait is on fire in several places after several hostile drone attacks.  Kuwait's national oil company announced this on Friday, according to Kuwaiti media, the AFP news agency writes.

Firefighters are working to contain the fires at the Mina al-Ahmadi oil refinery on Friday morning, Kuwait's national news agency reports.  Several units at the oil refinery have been shut down while extinguishing work is ongoing.

There are no reports of injuries.  It is not clear who is behind the hostile drone attack on the oil refinery.

This is the second day in a row that the Mina al-Ahmadi refinery has been subjected to an attack. On Thursday, both the Mina al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries were on fire after attacks.

Kuwait's military announced in a statement that it had responded to hostile missile and drone threats. It also does not mention who is believed to be behind it.

On Friday night, Bahrain's Interior Ministry reported that shrapnel from an Iranian attack had caused a fire in a warehouse. The fire was extinguished, and there were no injuries. The Iranian government did not immediately comment on the claim from Bahrain.

Iran has responded again to the US and Israeli military attacks, which began almost three weeks ago, by attacking targets in several Gulf states.

On Thursday, Qatar's largest production facility for liquefied natural gas, Ras Laffan Industrial City, was subjected to an Iranian missile attack after Israel bombed the Iranian natural gas field South Pars. The missile attack triggered several major fires and caused extensive damage to the production facility.

Saudi Arabia also reported an attack on the Samref refinery on Thursday. This was reported by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense, according to Reuters.

The many attacks on energy infrastructure in the Middle East caused European gas prices to increase by more than 20 percent on Thursday.
