The Port of Odense has found the man to lead the large-scale project Odense Dry Port. The choice has fallen on Stig Haumann Langsager, who will take up a newly created position as project manager for Odense Dry Port on 1 September, where he, in collaboration with a future development manager, will be in charge of turning the vision into reality and developing Denmark's largest dry port of one million square metres at the former experimental horticulture farm at Årslev on Funen, the port informs in a press release.
Stig Langsager brings many years of project management experience from a number of large Odense projects, including as Odense Municipality's project manager for the design of the Light Rail and project manager for the extension of Munkebjergvej and Odin's Bridge over the Odense Canal.
- It is a great news that we have got Stig Langsager on board, who comes with extensive project experience from complex urban development projects and is known for bringing the projects to fruition. I have no doubt that Stig Langsager, together with a future development manager, can take on the task of developing the area from “bare ground” to a high-tech and sustainable logistics hub, says CEO Carsten Aa, Odense Havn A/S, who has high expectations for the collaboration.
Odense Dry Port is being established, among other things, to enable the Port of Odense to continue to be a significant player in offshore wind. With Odense Dry Port, the warehouse and logistics part can be moved away from the current port area, but close enough to reduce dependence on international supply chains. The investment in Odense Dry Port amounts to 4-5 billion. DKK.
