KERTEMINDE / ODENSE: The Planning and Technical Committee in Kerteminde Municipality has put a temporary brake on an expansion of the area in connection with Lindø Industrial Park, Odense Port at Munkebo, which would allow for the expansion of capacity for the production of, among other things, offshore wind turbine components, writes Fyens Stiftstidende.

From the committee's recommendation it appears that this is a new commercial area of approx. 100 hectares northwest of Dræby Fed, which should provide an opportunity to expand the capacity for the production of offshore wind turbine components and related companies and test areas.

In relation to another area, an ongoing local plan is now being sent out for renewed consultation and is expected to be discussed at the committee's meeting in June. The Planning and Technology Committee was therefore to decide at its meeting on Wednesday whether a local plan and municipal plan supplement should also be prepared for the new expansion.

According to the newspaper, the meeting minutes show that the decision has now been postponed: "Solutions must be found for road routes, traffic safety and settlement before further planning is initiated," it concludes, among other things. And Mayor Kasper Ejsing Olesen (S) is calling for a real political discussion with Odense Municipality before continuing.

- It is especially the owners (Odense Municipality, ed.) that we would like to have a dialogue with. The Port of Odense has created Denmark's largest industrial port in record time with incredible success, but their expansions have been carried out without a major master plan. We have helped find solutions and changed the local plans for a small area, but now we have to do things differently, says the mayor, who believes that there should be one big overall solution for the whole of Munkebo and the port.
