The Danish Defence still has no intention of saying why a number of the Danish Navy's vessels are taking turns in an area of the Kattegat where a Chinese ship is anchored. However, the Danish Defence confirms its presence on the social media X.
- The Danish Defence can confirm that we are present in the area of the Chinese ship "Yi Peng 3".
- The Danish Defence has no further comments at this time, it continues.
"Yi Peng 3" has been linked to two breaches of international data cables in the Baltic Sea. The breaches have occurred at locations along the route that "Yi Peng 3" has been sailing since the ship set sail from the Russian port of Ust-Luga near St. Petersburg.
However, it is still unclear what exactly caused the cable breaches. The Swedish authorities have sent ships to investigate the cause of the cables being broken.
This concerns a cable that connects Gotland with Lithuania and one that sends data between the German city of Rostock and the Finnish capital Helsinki.
