Energi Fyn has hired Mette Rose Skaksen as new CEO. She comes from a position as Deputy CEO in Green Power Denmark and will join on March 1, 2026. Energi Fyn announced this in a press release.
The appointment follows a recruitment process carried out in the second half of 2025. According to the board, the choice fell on Mette Rose Skaksen based on her experience from the energy industry and her work with both strategic and political agendas.
- Mette comes with a strong and broad background from the energy industry and has solid experience with both strategic and political agendas. She has worked at Green Power Denmark, the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority and the Confederation of Danish Industry, among others. With her insight and management experience, she is the right choice to lead Energi Fyn forward in a time of major changes in the energy sector, says Søren Thorsager, Chairman of the Board of Energi Fyn.
Has helped shape Green Power Denmark
Mette Rose Skaksen has a Master of Science in Economics and a PhD and has previously held leading positions in, among others, the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority and the Confederation of Danish Industry. She was hired as Deputy CEO just after Green Power Denmark was formed in the spring of 2022, and has since had overall responsibility for network economics, law, the electricity market, heating and intelligent energy. The industry organization is upset about losing the deputy director.
- On the internal lines, Mette Rose Skaksen has worked very hard. She has made a significant contribution to the fact that Green Power Denmark is today – less than four years after the merger – in a strong political and organizational position. I am sorry that Mette is leaving. But it is great that she is changing to one of our good members, and that we can continue the collaboration with her in the new role, says Kristian Jensen, CEO of Green Power Denmark.
Mette Rose Skaksen herself is looking forward to taking up the position.
- I am very much looking forward to taking over responsibility for Energi Fyn and to the collaboration with the board, employees and stakeholders. Energi Fyn is strong, and I look forward to contributing to the continued development of a sustainable and competitive energy group, says the incoming CEO of Energi Fyn.
Mette Rose Skaksen takes over the position at Energi Fyn after Bent Agerholm, who has been CEO since 2008 when Energi Fyn and Odense Energi were merged. Before that, he was a director at Odense Energi. He will turn 70 in March 2026.
