The Conservatives are concerned about possible unlawful dismissal of Hirtshals director

Several citizens have contacted the conservative city council members in Hjørring Municipality, as they fear that the firing of Hirtshals Port's former director Jens Kirketerp Jensen is unjustified.

It came as a big surprise to Jens Kirketerp Jensen himself, who was fired from his position as director of the Port of Hirtshals shortly before Christmas last year.

The firing came on the basis of a consultant report that concluded that the port's management, consisting of Jens Kirketerp Jensen and deputy director Karin, did not have the necessary skills to continue the port's development.

- I see no problem in the fact that I could have been the one to lead the development that the management wants, Jens Kirketerp Jensen told DK Havenergi when his firing became public.

Apparently, several people agree with this position. In any case, the Conservatives have received several inquiries about the dismissals, writes Nordjyske. According to the party, more than 25 citizens, employees at the port and companies have expressed frustration and anger over the dismissals, which several feared were politically motivated.

Per Møller (K), 1st Deputy Mayor of Hjørring Municipality, states that he has confidence in the port's board, but will still raise the matter at the next city council meeting. Regardless, according to the deputy mayor, it is too late to withdraw the dismissals.

Hjørring Mayor Arne Boelt (S), who himself sits on the board of the Port of Hirtshals, rejects all accusations that the report is a piece of political commissioned work.
