US President Donald Trump is extending the pause for attacks on Iranian power plants. He wrote this in a post on his social media Truth Social on Thursday evening Danish time.

According to Trump, the Iranian government has requested an extension of the deadline. This means that the United States will not attack the power plants until Monday, April 6 at 8 p.m. local time. That is April 7 at 2 a.m. in Denmark.

- The negotiations (with Iran, ed.) are underway, and despite erroneous statements to the contrary from the so-called fake news media and others, they are going very well, Trump writes in the post.

This is the second time that Trump has put the attacks on Iranian power plants on pause. On Monday, he also announced on Truth Social that he would postpone the attacks on the power plants for five days.

Iran has not yet commented on the new announcement from the American president. Iranian spokesmen have so far denied that there are any direct negotiations underway between the two countries.

On Wednesday night, Trump said that Iranian officials would like to make a peace deal but are afraid to say so for fear of being killed. He said this, according to the AFP news agency, during an annual dinner for Republican members of Congress.

- They are in the negotiations, by the way, and they would like to make a deal. But they don't dare to say it because they think their own people will kill them.

- They are also afraid that we will kill them, the president said.

Later that day, Iran denied that the country was in negotiations with the United States.

- Has the level of your internal conflict reached the point where you are negotiating with yourself, said Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the country's primary military command, according to the BBC.
