AARHUS: For four years, Aarhus Mayor Jacob Bundsgaard (S) has refused to accept a fee for being chairman of the Port of Aarhus, but since the New Year he has again received the fee, which is DKK 150,000 per year. This is reported by Jyllands-Posten.
- My principled view is that you should be paid for the work you do - including board work, says Jacob Bundsgaard to the newspaper, explaining that his position as KL chairman for the past four years, together with the mayoral salary, has given him such a large income that he thought it was unreasonable. That is why he waived the harbour fee.
At the Municipal Political Summit on Thursday, KL chairman Bundsgaard and KL deputy chairman Martin Damm (V) are expected to swap places and thus also pay. The chairmanship in KL was honored with DKK 584,780 in 2021, while the deputy chairmanship in 2022 gives DKK 291,664, the newspaper reports.
