Energi Fyn delivers its best result ever with a profit of DKK 421 million before tax and DKK 337 million after tax in 2025. This significantly increases the company's result from DKK 334.8 million the year before. At the same time, revenue has increased to DKK 5.7 billion from DKK 4.7 billion the year before, and all of the group's business areas have contributed positively to the result - from electricity grid and broadband to energy trading. Energi Fyn states this in a press release.
The progress comes in a year characterized by major fluctuations in the electricity market, where the need to balance production and consumption has been high. This has increased activity at the company's regulating power plants, which has contributed significantly to earnings.
- This is a very satisfactory result, which gives us the opportunity to invest in both security of supply, digitalization and the energy system of the future. It is necessary in a time of increasing electrification and increased uncertainty in the world around us, says Mette Rose Skaksen, who took over as CEO of Energi Fyn in March from a position as deputy director of Green Power Denmark. She took over from Bent Agerholm, who is the front man behind the result.
All profits in Energi Fyn are reinvested in the company. This also happened in 2025, when Energi Fyn invested 670 million DKK in the expansion of the electricity grid and fiber network as well as in emergency preparedness and IT security. Investments are expected to increase in the coming years in line with increasing electricity consumption, which in the company's supply area grew by 7 percent.
- The electrification of society increases the pressure on the electricity grid. Therefore, it is crucial that we both expand and modernize the electricity grid so that we can ensure a stable supply and at the same time support the green transition, says Mette Rose Skaksen.
The development of the energy system with more solar and wind energy also increases the need for flexible solutions and system services that can ensure the balance in the electricity grid. This has strengthened the importance of regulating power, but also points to earnings that largely depend on developments in the energy markets.
Energi Fyn is owned by around 220,000 cooperative members and reinvests all profits in the company, including in infrastructure and local development on Funen.
