Vestas has signed an agreement with ENERTRAG to supply V172-7.2 MW wind turbines for two projects in Brandenburg in northeastern Germany. The order has a total capacity of 115 MW and is the largest for this type of turbine to date, the wind turbine manufacturer said in a statement.
The two projects, Malchow Ost with a capacity of 86 MW and Tantow 1 with 29 MW, will receive a total of 16 turbines. Once completed, Vestas will be responsible for operation and maintenance for 25 years under an AOM 5000 service agreement.
- With this order, we are realizing two large wind projects in our home region of Brandenburg. Both projects will be part of the ENERTRAG Verbundkraftwerk and support our strategy for a secure and 100 percent renewable energy supply. Thanks to Vestas' latest turbine technology, we can deliver more energy with fewer installations – this strengthens the regional supply and reduces land use. The projects will supply around 85,000 households and reduce CO2 emissions by over 200,000 tons annually, says Gunar Hering, CEO of ENERTRAG.
Delivery of the turbines is expected to begin in the first half of 2027, and the projects are expected to be completed in the second half of the same year.
