It was not successful in 2024, but now they are trying again to entice energy companies to invest in offshore wind farms in Danish waters.
On Thursday, the Danish Energy Agency put three offshore wind farms from that time out to tender - this time with terms that may be more palatable to the companies that are interested.
These are two areas in the North Sea west of Ringkøbing Fjord and an area south of the Kattegat island of Hesselø.
This time, the state is guaranteeing a minimum price for the electricity that the offshore wind turbines produce.
This reduces the risk that energy companies will invest money in producing electricity that they have to give away at times when the electricity price is zero or negative.
A political agreement has set a ceiling of 55 billion kroner for this type of support.
The expectation is that the three farms will be able to supply electricity equivalent to three million households. consumption.
