NKT has delivered its highest ever operational EBITDA of 105 million euros in the second quarter of 2025, while revenue increased to 723 million euros – an organic growth of 13 percent compared to the same quarter last year. For the entire first half of the year, revenue reached 1,353 million euros and operational EBITDA reached 186 million euros. The cable manufacturer announced this in a statement.
- In the second quarter of 2025, NKT maintained its positive financial development and achieved double-digit growth in revenue and the highest operational EBITDA in the company's history. We are pleased with this development and performance, as we continue to deliver on our customer commitments and execute on our major expansions. Amidst ongoing global changes, we maintain our strategic direction with the goal of connecting a greener world through reliable cable solutions, says Claes Westerlind, CEO of NKT.
In the Solutions business area, revenue increased to EUR 450 million from EUR 379 million the previous year. However, operational EBITDA decreased slightly to EUR 66 million compared to EUR 67 million in the same period last year, and the EBITDA margin decreased from 17.7 to 14.7 percent. In Applications, revenue increased to EUR 234 million from EUR 175 million, while EBITDA was raised to EUR 31 million from EUR 21 million, corresponding to a margin improvement from 11.8 to 13.0 percent.
The order backlog for high-voltage projects decreased slightly to EUR 10.1 billion, but NKT received new smaller orders in the quarter. Free cash flow was negative by EUR 175 million due to ongoing investments, including the expansion of the Karlskrona factory and the construction of the cable ship NKT Eleonora.
Based on the financial results for the first half of 2025 and the expectations for the rest of the year, NKT is upgrading its financial expectations for the full year. The update is driven by the Solutions and Service & Accessories business areas.
The new expectations are for revenue of EUR 2.65-2.75 billion and operational EBITDA of EUR 360-390 million – upgraded from previous EUR 2.37-2.52 billion and EUR 330-380 million.
