HORSENS: Horsens Municipality requires local support before investors can erect wind turbines. The decision effectively gives neighbors veto power over the projects, writes Horsens Folkeblad. The decision met with support from all sides of Horsens City Council when the plan was adopted on Tuesday evening.
According to Mayor Peter Sørensen (S), support can be achieved, among other things, through a local vote or through local councils:
- Investors must understand that those who live in the open countryside get all the inconveniences, but rarely any benefits. It can be solved elsewhere with one hundred percent support, and I am sure it can also be done in Horsens, he says.
