Green Power Denmark's CEO warns against European plans to buy more American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to create political goodwill with Donald Trump. According to him, it would be a costly strategy that ties Europe to fossil energy and hinders the green transition. This is what Green Power Denmark's CEO Kristian Jensen writes in a post on LinkedIn. He points out that the EU is already heavily dependent on energy imports, and that billions in new investments in LNG will maintain emissions and make energy more expensive. Instead, Europe should invest in electrification and renewable energy.
– The problem lies in building the future on LNG, which will require billions of investments in an expensive energy that will maintain our CO2 emissions and lock companies out of the necessary transition to electrification, says CEO of Green Power Denmark Kristian Jensen.
He highlights Denmark's low electricity prices and strong connections to neighboring countries as an example of a well-functioning model. According to him, investments in heat pumps and electric cars will reduce both emissions and bills.
