King Frederik's first foreign visit as king is to Poland at the head of a large business delegation of ministers and Danish companies. The visit has a special focus on green transition. Energy efficiency, agriculture, biogas and offshore wind are on the agenda. Danish Shipping writes in a press release.
Poland is a large market on the rise, so there are good opportunities for Danish companies. This applies not least in the maritime area. Danish companies can deliver the green solutions that are increasingly in demand. A business visit like this can help open the doors even wider for Danish companies that have ambitions to establish themselves in the Polish market.
For example, Poland is an emerging market in the offshore wind area. Here, 6 GW is to be installed by 2030 and a full 18 GW by 2040. Danish companies such as Cadeler and Ørsted are already involved in the process and are thus contributing to the sector's development and the creation of green jobs.
- Poland is a very interesting market for us. Here, we are facing major investments in offshore wind and the associated maritime infrastructure. Here, we can offer our expertise in port construction, expansion of service ports, bottom reinforcement for jack-up ships, boulder clearance and more. We can deliver the concrete solutions that can help realize the Polish ambitions to accelerate the green transition, says Kristen Nedergaard Dreiøe, senior sales manager at Høj Nordic Marine Contractor.
The shipping company ESVAGT is also on the visit and is closely following the Polish expansion of offshore wind and the development within renewable energy.
- By being present during the business visit, we will have the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the specific challenges, opportunities and needs that Poland faces, so that we can adapt our services and solutions to local conditions and requirements, says CEO of the shipping company ESVAGT Peter Lytzen and adds:
- In addition, a key goal for us during the business visit is to strengthen relations with a view to continuing to recruit qualified personnel for our fleet. By being present in Poland, we want to establish and maintain close ties with potential employees and educational institutions.
Closer Danish-Polish cooperation can thus help create growth and jobs in both countries and contribute positively to the green transition. There will be a need for “wind, waves and wires” and Danish shipping companies and other companies are ready to deliver green solutions.
