DK Nyt's sister media, Kommunen.dk, is today launching its new podcast series "Municipalities save the climate", which highlights the climate efforts in a number of municipalities.
In the first episode, the chair of the KL's Environment and Technology Committee and mayor of Frederikshavn, Birgit S. Hansen (S), explains why it is crucial that local politicians dare to stand up to the beer can and meet dissatisfied citizens - even though she has previously been a little afraid of the citizens' anger and frustration in the wind turbine debate.
But it is absolutely crucial that citizens are actually heard and included in the debate, so that citizens do not feel that they are just being fooled.
Tue Damsø, project manager in Concito's DK2020 project, agrees. In the podcast, he talks about what it takes to make wind turbines and solar cells easier to sell to local politicians.
