KØGE: Another energy park is in the works, after a majority in Køge City Council decided on Tuesday to ask the state to prepare a so-called executive order for Vallø Energy Park. This is reported by TV2 Kosmopol

Vallø Energy Park will contain both solar cells on land and wind turbines in the forest, DR has previously described. The solar cell plant is planned to cover 250 hectares and will be able to produce 230 gigawatts of electricity annually. The wind turbines are planned to be 185 meters high, and the project consists of 18 turbines. Now the process of involving citizens, environmental assessment and planning, etc. must be initiated before the project can finally get the green light.

- The state is now initiating a thorough process that will, among other things, examine how Energipark Vallø will affect the surroundings in terms of noise, human health, animal species and habitats. And only on the basis of this work will a final decision be made about the project, says the mayor of Køge, Marie Stærke (S).
