Andel and NRGi's joint energy trading company Energi Danmark has had some turbulent years. The energy crisis has led to record-high earnings in the company, but has also led to a lawsuit due to a disagreement over the payment of bonus agreements worth up to one billion kroner from three now former employees.
Presumably as a result of the above bonus case, Energi Danmark has also said goodbye to its first CEO in more than 20 years, Jørgen Holm Westergaard, in February, and earlier in November, the energy trading company's CFO Jesper Nybo Stenager also resigned with immediate effect.
Now, however, the company is looking forward, and it is doing so, among other things, by incorporating two very prominent profiles into the company's board of directors. Anne Broeng and Torben Möger Pedersen are joining as external board members, Energi Danmark said in a statement.
- I am pleased to welcome two very competent business profiles as new board members in Energi Danmark. Energi Danmark creates great social value in the transformation of our energy system from fossil energy to renewable energy, and the new board members bring strong competencies that can strengthen the board's work with this task, says Jesper Hjulmand, CEO of Andel and chairman of the board of Energi Danmark.
Experience from the energy industry
Energi Danmark describes Torben Möger Pedersen as one of the "heaviest profiles in Danish business." Möger has been CEO of Pension Danmark for 32 years, among other things. He has also held a number of chairman and board positions in companies and organizations with a strong focus on climate and green transition.
- Energi Danmark is undertaking a very important social task in a market that, despite normalization, is still in a challenging time. I look forward to contributing with my experience and financial insight to Energi Danmark's continued positive development, among other things. with further expansion, says Torben Möger Pedersen.
Anne Broeng is, among other things, chairman of Pensionsselskabet Velliv and sits on the board of Rambøll, where she is chairman of the risk and audit committee. In addition, she has also previously been a board member of another energy trading company in the form of Danske Commodities, just as she has previously been on the board of Energinet.
- The energy industry as a whole plays a huge role in the green transition. And as a market leader, Energi Danmark's customer base accounts for a significant part of Denmark's total energy consumption. This gives me a special responsibility that I look forward to helping to shoulder, says Anne Broeng.
