Energy trading company Energi Danmark, owned by Andel and NRGi, will have a new CEO when Louise Hahn takes office on August 14. Louise Hahn most recently came from a position as CEO of GlobalConnect Denmark and was previously Senior Vice President at Ørsted, where she has held several senior positions for 15 years.

- I am very pleased to have Louise Hahn join the team. She brings great insight into the energy industry, a strong customer focus and will be a great asset to our continued work to strengthen Energi Danmark's strategy, culture and management, says Chairman of the Board of Directors of Energi Danmark, Jesper Hjulmand, in a press release.

Louise Hahn is looking forward to taking up the position as CEO of Energi Danmark.

- I am looking forward to becoming part of a competent and strong organization that has delivered solid results, and there is a really exciting task in developing the company in collaboration with the entire team. Energi Danmark is known for its strong solutions, and the customer portfolio's energy consumption constitutes a significant part of Denmark's total energy consumption, she says.

In addition to her role as CEO of Energi Danmark, Louise Hahn will be part of the Top Management leadership forum in the Andel group.

Former CEO fired after bonus cases

The appointment of Louise Hahn ends a six-month director hunt for Energi Danmark, as the company's CEO of almost 24 years, Jørgen Holm Westergaard, was terminated in February.

At that time, the reason was not disclosed, but since then it has emerged that Jørgen Holm Westergaard entered into bonus agreements without a ceiling with employees, which have resulted in bonuses of between 250 and 300 million DKK per person in recent years. These were bonus agreements that the board of directors indicated that the former CEO had entered into without their knowledge.

According to the media outlet Finans, however, it was primarily a disagreement about Jørgen Holm Westergaard's own bonus. According to the media, the former CEO wanted a bonus scheme of a three-digit million amount. That wish ended up costing him his job.

In the six months that have passed since Jørgen Holm Westergaard resigned, Jesper Nybo Stenager has been acting CEO. He continues in the management as Executive Vice President/CFO of Energi Danmark.
