Energi Danmark's CEO Jørgen Holm Westergaard is resigning. This is stated by the energy trading company, which owns the two cooperatively owned energy and fiber network groups Andel (63.6 percent) and NRGi (36.4 percent), in a press release.

- Jørgen Holm Westergaard is resigning as CEO of Energi Danmark. The board of directors has initiated a recruitment process for a new CEO who can lead the further development of Energi Danmark. During the transition period, Energi Danmark's CFO Jesper Nybo Stenager has been appointed as acting CEO, says chairman of the board Jesper Hjulmand.

Energi Danmark does not disclose the specific reason why Jørgen Holm Westergaard, who has held the position for 23 years, is stepping down. However, the company writes that 2022 has been a landmark year for the energy markets with historically high energy prices and high market volatility, which requires renewal.

- The changed market conditions place great demands on energy companies, including our ability to renew ourselves and exploit the opportunities that the energy transition creates. Based on a leading market position and a solid expected financial result for 2022, Energi Danmark is strongly positioned for further development, says Chairman of the Board Jesper Hjulmand.
