Velkommen, Værdvarende and Nettopower have lost their balancing agreement with the energy company Mind Energy, which is a prerequisite for being able to supply electricity to customers. However, the companies have entered into a new agreement with another unnamed player, and this means that a few hundred customers will be moved to a new electricity company. This is reported by Ekstra Bladet.
The agreement with Mind Energy, previously called Energi Danmark, has so far ensured that the electricity companies could buy electricity on the market. Without such an agreement, an electricity company cannot maintain its supply, and in that case, customers will generally be automatically transferred to another supplier. The information about the switch is confirmed by Energinet, which also states that the customers' power supply will continue without interruption.
The case comes at the same time that the Danish Electricity Supply Authority has ordered Velkommen and Nettopower to immediately repay receivables to former customers. The orders were issued on the basis of a large number of delayed or missing payments. The Velkommen Group has also been the subject of a number of cases. Among other things, the Maritime and Commercial Court ruled at the beginning of 2026 that the company had been collecting an illegal buy-out amount of DKK 800 for years from customers who terminated their electricity contract during the binding period. In addition, the appeals board received 556 complaints about energy companies in 2025, which is almost double the previous year. 241 of the complaints concerned Velkommen and Nettopower, which according to their own information have around 100,000 customers.
