Despite the fact that Vestas has both been blackmailed and had data leaked on the Dark Web after the cyber attack against the wind turbine manufacturer, the company has escaped the attack mercifully compared to companies such as ISS, Demant and A.P.Møller-Mærsk. This is the assessment of equity analysts to Børsen.
- It is always serious when a company is hit by a cyber attack. That said, it does not seem to have a major impact on the volume of business, says equity analyst at Jyske Bank Janne Vincent Kjær.
Sydbank's head of research also assesses that Vestas has not been particularly paralyzed by the attack. Vestas was hit by the attack on November 19 and shut down all systems in connection with it. However, about ten days later, the company announced that almost all systems were up and running again. According to Vestas, no supplier or customer data was affected by the leak.
