Vestas was hit by a cyberattack on Friday, and the situation has prompted the wind turbine manufacturer to seek help from security firm CSIS, which is among the industry's most expensive experts. This is reported by Finans.
Vestas, which has lost a market value of DKK 5.8 billion since the IT attack, will not disclose which external advisors they have brought in to contain the attack, but it is not surprising that Sydbank's head of equity research and Vestas expert, Jacob Pedersen, that Vestas has sought help from CSIS.
- The traces from previous cyberattacks are scary. We know that this can be really expensive if the attack is not contained quickly. And for Vestas, the attack comes at the worst possible time - in the middle of the fourth quarter, which is among the busiest of the year, he says.
