At least five people have been killed in Russian missile and drone strikes on the Ukrainian regions of Poltava and Kharkiv. The attacks have hit gas production facilities and have led to disruptions in gas supplies to residents of the two regions.

This was announced by the director of the Ukrainian energy company Naftogaz, Serhiy Koretsky, on Monday morning, according to the Reuters news agency.

In addition to the five killed, 37 people have been injured.  Earlier it was reported that four people had been killed and 31 were injured after an attack on Poltava.

In addition to the gas facilities, the Ukrainian railway network has been damaged in the Russian attacks.
