Biogas covered over half of gas consumption in April

Biogas covered 51 percent of total gas consumption in April and thus constituted a significant part of the gas supply. At the same time, production was almost 2.4 PJ, which corresponds to the highest average daily production so far. This is stated by Biogas Danmark in a press release.

"The development in April shows that production can be kept high. The level from March has been maintained, and this shows that biogas production can be increased and maintained when the need is there. After a very cold start to the year, we are now moving into a warmer period, where gas consumption is falling, and this raises the biogas share again", writes Biogas Danmark in the release.

Over the past 12 months, biogas has accounted for an average of 37 percent of gas consumption. The figures indicate that biogas production can be adapted to changes in demand throughout the year and continue to provide a stable contribution to the energy system.
