FREDERIKSHAVN: Frederikshavn Municipality took over the operation of Frederikshavn Port earlier this year after the port had run into financial difficulties. The port had been struggling financially for a long time and had a debt of over 1.6 billion kr.

The city council agreed that a legal investigation, which the law firm Bech Bruun will be responsible for, should place responsibility for how things had gotten so bad at the port. However, several former members of the port's board and the former port director Mikkel Seedorff Sørensen will not participate in the investigation. The reason is that they fear that the municipality will not present all documents in the case to the investigation, writes TV 2 Nord.

- None of us believe that they will present all the documents. This is like a puzzle where you have 25 pieces, and then we are allowed to see five. They have opted out of the other 20, so it is clear that you cannot trust that, says former board member, Leif Midtgaard Pedersen, who states that he and the other former board members are not allowed to access the board portal, where, among other things, board minutes and documents with communication between the port and the municipality are stored.
