Frederikshavn Port is once again short of money

In May, Frederikshavn Port was taken over by Frederikshavn Municipality, thus becoming a municipal port, where it had previously had the status of a municipal self-governing port. The reason for the takeover was poor finances due to a debt of 1.6 billion DKK.

A large part of the port's red numbers come from the construction of a new oil terminal for Stena Oil. It was originally set to cost 225 million DKK, but is now priced at more than double that. The municipality has had to issue new loan guarantees to the port several times to ensure operations. But now another additional bill of 10.7 million DKK has been added for the construction of the oil terminal, which thus rounds out the cost to over 490 million DKK. DKK. This is reported by DR.dk

In order to cover this additional bill, it has now been recommended to the municipality's finance committee to increase a construction loan for the port from 482.5 million DKK to 493.3 million DKK.
