Semco Maritime UK has been awarded a three-year contract for integrated control and safety systems by a major operator on the British Continental Shelf. The contract covers operational services for eight offshore and onshore assets in the North Sea and has a total value of several million pounds. Semco Maritime said in a press release.
The contract came into effect in February 2026 and includes the option of two one-year extensions. The tasks include ongoing support, maintenance, modification and rationalisation of more than twelve industrial control systems already in operation.
The work will be carried out from the company's Aberdeen branch, which provides engineering, operations and maintenance services to the offshore energy sector. The systems include Distributed Control Systems, Safety Instrumented Systems, emergency stop systems, fire and gas detection systems and SCADA systems. According to the company, the agreement will support safe and stable operations and compliance with applicable requirements across the assets.
- We are pleased to have won this strategically important contract, which brings together process control and safety systems across multiple assets into a coherent support framework, enabling our customer to manage risk, performance and compliance both consistently and effectively. The award of the contract is a significant milestone for our Aberdeen business and reflects the customer’s confidence in Semco Maritime, as well as underlining the depth of our local capabilities and ability to deliver complex, safety-critical services in the North Sea. We are proud of this recognition and are focused on long-term asset management to ensure that the large and complex systems remain safe, reliable and fit for purpose, while supporting the operator’s operations and commercial objectives,” says David Hutchinson.
