Continued high and unstable gas prices, war in Europe and the goal of a fully green electricity and heat supply by 2030 place great demands on the Danish energy and supply sector. According to Danish District Heating, the upcoming Folketing should prioritize stability and security in energy supply, so that Danes avoid power outages and cold homes.
This is stated by Danish District Heating in a press release.
The organization points out that the energy infrastructure is a fundamental part of society and ensures electricity and heat for citizens every day. At the same time, the threat landscape has changed, including an increased risk of cyber attacks.
- The country's utility companies have the crucial societal role of ensuring electricity, heat and waste management for Danes all year round. It is a task that has not become less challenging now that we have also fine-tuned our preparedness due to the many threats to Europe, including in particular cyber attacks, which we are hit by daily, says Kim Mortensen, director of Dansk Fjernvarme.
Dansk Fjernvarme also emphasizes that key decisions must be made in the upcoming parliamentary session to achieve the climate goals in 2030. The organization refers to the fact that the Climate Council, shortly before the election, assessed that the goal cannot be achieved with the current policy.
