Vestas to supply turbines to Italian cement factory

5. DEC 2025 9.33
Ordre

Vestas has received an order for 10 MW from Cementeria Costantinopoli Srl for a wind project that will supply green energy directly to the company's cement factory in the Basilicata region of Italy, the wind turbine manufacturer said in a statement.

The turbines will be located next to the factory and will be able to cover around a third of its electricity consumption with stable and sustainable energy. The order includes the delivery and installation of three V117-3.45 MW turbines and a ten-year service agreement of the AOM 4000 type. Delivery and commissioning of the turbines is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. Since 1991, Vestas has installed more than 6 GW of wind capacity in Italy.

- The project marks a milestone for Vestas in Italy, as it is the first in the country to supply an energy-intensive cement factory exclusively with clean wind energy, and it sets a standard for industrial decarbonization in the region, says Francesco Amati, CEO of Vestas Italy.
