During December 2024, Vestas has received new wind orders totaling 3.2 GW, distributed across several countries and regions. The orders include both onshore and offshore projects and range from repowering projects in Spain to large offshore installations in Japan. Vestas writes this in no fewer than 13 press releases.
We are proud to be part of the global transition to green energy, says Purvin Patel, President of Vestas Asia Pacific, who sees the collaboration on Japan's offshore project as a milestone for the region.
The new orders include:
Japan: 315 MW offshore project in Akita with 21 V236-15.0 MW turbines.
Italy: 277 MW portfolio sale from Vestas Development.
Spain: Repowering of two wind farms with a total of 99 MW (22 new turbines).
Poland: 29 MW project with 13 V110-2.2 MW turbines at Nowogrodek.
Denmark: 27 MW Hallendrup project with 6 V136-4.5 MW turbines.
Portugal: 63 MW project with 14 V163-4.5 MW turbines.
Australia: 105 MW King Rocks Wind Farm with 17 V162-6.2 MW turbines.
Germany: 86 MW Fischborn project and 48 MW WP Ohrenbach.
Latvia: 64 MW project with 10 V162-6.4 MW turbines.
USA: 270 MW project developed by Steelhead Americas and additional 203 MW and 163 MW projects with V163-4.5 MW and V117-4.3 MW turbines.
Guatemala: 63 MW project with 14 V150-4.5 MW turbines.
France: 55 MW and 31 MW distributed over several projects with different turbines.
South Africa: 95 MW project with 21 V150-4.5 MW turbines.
Italy: 26 MW Valico Casone Cocca with V150-6.0 MW and V117-4.2 MW turbines.
The new projects are expected to contribute significantly to reducing CO2 emissions. For example, the two Spanish wind farms alone will save the atmosphere 53,000 tons of CO2 annually when operational.
With more than 7 GW secured from development activities and a total project pipeline of 28 GW, Vestas continues to be a key player in the global transition to green energy.
