Since November 2024, Søren Karas and Kristian Ole Jakobsen have shared the job as CEO of ESVAGT A/S, which is based in Esbjerg and provides service and safety for offshore wind, oil and gas. The two directors have the same title, salary and responsibilities – and make all major decisions together. That's what Lederstof.dk writes about.
- You have to put your ego aside for a bit, but I could quickly see that there was a lot of logic in it,
says Søren Karas, CEO of ESVAGT.
Kristian Ole Jakobsen was also skeptical at first, but ended up saying yes after careful consideration.
- Over the course of a few days, I came to the conclusion that it could actually work if we found a way to set it up properly,
says Kristian Ole Jakobsen, CEO of ESVAGT.
The two leaders emphasize open communication and clear rules of the game. Precise areas of responsibility have been defined, but the directors agree that decisions must be made jointly.
– We jokingly call ourselves CEO2, as an expression that the sum is greater than our individual competencies,
says Kristian Ole Jakobsen.
