AARHUS / SYDDJURS: The plans by the company Nrgi Renewables to build three 150-meter-high wind turbines at Vosnæs north of Aarhus have been delayed. A unanimous municipal council in Syddjurs has decided to object to Aarhus Municipality's local plan proposal. According to the Planning Act, the objection has veto effect, as the project has significant significance for the development of the neighboring municipality. This is reported by Århus Stiftstidende.
- We in the city council have taken the unusual step of objecting to Aarhus Municipality because the three wind turbines will have many impacts on our citizens and on Syddjurs Municipality's landscape values and protected bats, says Michael Stegger Jensen (S), who is mayor of Syddjurs Municipality.
The objection means that Aarhus Municipality cannot adopt the local plan until an agreement has been reached between the municipalities. Stegger Jensen believes that this will not be possible, and therefore expects the matter to be decided by Minister Morten Dahlin (V). The local plan is currently in public consultation until August 14. More than 150 citizens have already submitted consultation responses – the majority against the project.
