The winners of Workplace of the Year 2024 are Siemens Gamesa. This is the 32nd time that the award has been presented by the trade union 3F.
There was great jubilation among the North Jutland employees and management when their workplace Siemens Gamesa from Aalborg was named Workplace of the Year 2024 on Thursday afternoon.
- Siemens Gamesa is a workplace that puts the individual employee first and there is a very special unity between colleagues. You accommodate everyone and there is room for people who need support and special working conditions, said Henning Overgaard, chairman of the 3F, when he presented the winner on Thursday afternoon at the Workers' Museum in Copenhagen.
The industrial company Siemens Gamesa from Aalborg was one of three companies nominated for Workplace of the Year 2024. The other two candidates were the construction company VAM from Auning in Djursland and Matas central warehouse in Allerød.
- Even though you are a huge workplace with more than 51 nationalities, you ensure that employees are involved in the development of products. And you have an important focus on recycling and reducing the amount of waste. It's been a great success, were the words of praise from Henning Overgaard to the happy employees and management from Siemens Gamesa.
It was employees Claus Brandborg Larsen and Mike Nørgaard who nominated their workplace, stating that it was a company with a good working environment, good opportunities for further education and a place where you can grow old.
- It's huge that we have won Workplace of the Year. I hadn't expected it, but I hoped for it. I am very proud of my workplace. We have a strong team and there is room for everyone, says warehouse employee and nominee Mike Nørgaard.
Siemens Gamesa is the 32nd company to be awarded the title of Workplace of the Year. It is a large workplace with 2,500 employees that produces wind turbine blades in Aalborg.
- It's fantastic that we at Siemens Gamesa in Aalborg have won the award for Workplace of the Year. We are the largest workplace in North Jutland with 2,500 employees and 51 nationalities. We have many skilled employees and are currently expanding our blade factory and hiring new people. We are very proud and grateful for the award we have won today, says factory manager, Piet Zangenberg from Siemens Gamesa in Aalborg.
For more than 30 years, 3F has named Workplace of the Year. Several hundred employees compete to have their workplace selected as one of the three candidates in the final round. The three selected workplaces will be visited by the judging committee, which will decide which of the three stands out as the winner.
The judging committee consists of 3F's chairman, the chairmen of 3F's six groups, 3F's press officer and the CEO of Scandi Byg, Henrik Mielke.
