Semco Maritime has secured a major assignment for Floatel International, which has chosen the company's facility at Hanøytangen near Bergen to carry out a number of modifications and energy optimizations on the rig Floatel Endurance.
This is stated by Semco Maritime in a press release.
When the rig completes its current assignment in Canada, it will sail to Norway and arrive for the shipyard stay in the first quarter of 2026. Here, Semco Maritime will, among other things, be responsible for overhauling thrusters, hull treatment, upgrades to galley and accommodation, and installation of a new SCR system with DOC technology, which will reduce emissions from the rig.

The energy optimization work is part of Norway's goal to reduce emissions from offshore rigs by 50 percent by 2030.
