Iberdrola has signed two three-year offshore service contracts with Semco Maritime GmbH, with the option of extension. The contracts cover planned and other maintenance of electromechanical equipment above the sea surface at two offshore substations belonging to the Baltic Hub projects, Semco Maritime announced.

The Baltic Hub currently consists of the offshore wind farms Wikinger (350 MW) and Baltic Eagle (476 MW), located near the island of Rügen in the German exclusive economic zone in the Baltic Sea. By combining the service tasks into one project, Iberdrola is expected to be able to optimize project management and establish a central 24/7 function with experienced technicians to reduce both operational risks and costs.

The start-up phase of the project is already underway to ensure a smooth transition from the current temporary contract for Baltic Eagle while also gaining experience from Wikinger.

- We are pleased to extend our cooperation with Iberdrola with these two long-term service agreements in the Baltic Sea. In addition to our already strong presence in renewables services in the North Sea, we assist customers regionally and globally as an independent service provider and partner by adapting our flexible service approach to their individual needs, says Mads S. Iversholt, Senior Director, Offshore Wind Service at Semco Maritime.
