PGE Group and Ørsted have awarded an EPC contract for four 375 MW offshore substations in the Baltica 2 project to a consortium consisting of Semco Maritime and PTSC Mechanical & Construction (PTSC M&C) with support from primary subcontractors ISC Consulting Engineers and Hyundai Electric, Semco Maritime said in a statement.
The contract covers the design, engineering, procurement, manufacture and commissioning of the four offshore substations, which will be manufactured at PTSC M&C’s shipyard in Vungtau, a port city in southern Vietnam.
Semco Maritime is responsible for the design and procurement as well as electrical installations, SCADA and auxiliary systems with support from ISC Consulting Engineers and Hyundai Electric. The contract will be executed in 2023-2026.

The Baltica 2 offshore wind project is located in the southern part of the Baltic Sea approximately 40 kilometers from the Polish coast and is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of 2027. The offshore wind farm will have a capacity of around 1.5 GW, making it Poland's largest renewable energy project with 107 wind turbines that will produce enough green electricity to cover approx. Consumption of 2.4 million Polish households.
